Markus Hauck, Director of Music Ministry |
Markus Hauck has worked with UU churches in Boston and Brooklyn before coming to the UU Congregation of Queens. As a recovering Catholic and exile from Germany, he is grateful to have found a denomination that welcomes people of multiple backgrounds, values many different kinds of music, and even has a sense of humor about it all.
Aside from over 40 productions in musical theater (including a national tour of Irving Berlin’s I Love A Piano), Markus has conducted and/or played for operas, big bands, choirs, rock groups, and various vocal ensembles; and he has released two CDs of his original compositions for piano. The music from his album my religion is life has been featured on nationally syndicated German network radio and on the sampler le classique abstrait published by Universal Music.
Markus is active in the New York City area as a conductor, pianist, and vocal coach. BM, Berklee College of Music. MM, The Boston Conservatory.
